Special Education Services
Overview
Special Education is the combination of programs and/or services provided to students with disabilities and is mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004. Special Education services are available to any student with a disability as defined by the Tennessee State Department of Education. Appropriate educational programs and services are specifically designed to meet the individual needs of each student in the least restrictive environment. Our program is available for students with disabilities ages 3 - 21. Services/programs include instructional classes, speech, physical and occupational therapy. Gifted classes are available to students who qualify through the screening process.
Our Special Education department staff is composed of 13 staff persons to serve over 175 students.
